Here is the second of our posts about our old family wedding photographs.

Here is a little bit about Emma’s Nan and Grandad.

John and Rebecca first met when John worked at the local greengrocers as a delivery boy. Becky got to know him through his deliveries to the street where she lived and it was known that she remembered him for his bike! Soon after they started courting they were engaged to be married.

They got married on the 11th April 1936 at St.Cleopas Church in Dingle, Liverpool. It was a very beautiful Spring day and Becky wore a straight white silk dress, long lace veil and tiny white silk shoes. Her bouquet was filled with roses.

Both John and Becky walked through the churchyard to claps and confetti from their guests and from there they went to the Co-Op hall on Beresford Road, Dingle where the reception was held.
