We first met Elaine & Rich last September and went on to photograph their engagement shoot in Chester City Centre. The ceremony was held at St.Helens Holy Cross & St.Mary’s Lowe House Church,  beautifully designed and described as free Romanesque with Gothic features. The reception was held at the lovely Mere Resort in Knutsford where there are lovely views and across the lake you can see one of Rich’s designs! (Rich is an architect). Both Elaine & Rich got ready at their parents homes surrounded by their family and friends and with the church not being too far away it was a short journey there. Once again we were lucky enough to get a dry (blustery!) day, it always adds a bit of glamour to the photos so we’re not complaining! The service was entertaining with a characterful Deacon ending the ceremony with an impromptu rendition of Love & Marriage!

Earlier this month we were asked by The Honey Rose Foundation to photograph Norah whose wish was to have a family portrait taken to keep and pass down through the generations. It was more convenient for Norah for us to visit her home and along with Renaissance Beauty we created a mini makeover studio and made Norah look fabulous!  Norah was delighted with the photos and we were more than happy to oblige.

A little bit about the Honey Rose Foundation …’The HoneyRose Foundation is a team of people with a desire to help individuals that are enduring a terminal illness. Although it takes many many people to provide a special day for these people, there are a few key characters that make it all possible. The HoneyRose Foundation was founded in memory of three special friends who have sadly passed away’

With the new year in full swing and before the wedding season is in full flow we’ve had the chance to take a look back on some old family wedding photos. After some serious restoration these are the first of two posts where we will share some old wedding pics. These are Lisa’s grandparents William and Rose who met when Ron was a serviceman in the RAF and used to write to Rose until he was stationed at RAF Burtonwood when they finally met and fell in love. They were married in the 1940′s at St.Nicholas church in St.Helens and used  locally based professional photographer Fred Langford who had a studio in Duke st, there probably wasn’t as much competition then!  There wasn’t much money around in those days but Ron was very smart in his uniform and Rose looked beautiful in her elegant dress and pretty headpiece. We love these photos, maybe Ron could have done with a bit of direction with where to put his arms but apart from that they are lovely! We aren’t professional photo restorers but we’ve done our best…

We always look for ways to improve our photography skills and we try to do this as much as we can to keep up to date with the latest trends in the wedding industry and it also helps us try out some new ideas before we include them in our weddings! Here are just a few of the photo’s we took from the lovely autumnal styled engagement shoot and wedding that was all held together by the lovely Lisa Aldersley and the team at Aspire. We had a great two days up in the Cumbrian countryside (one of our favourite places)  and the food was fantastic!

Denise suffered a little at the hands of the spinning twister with a few bruises (sorry!) and we think she certainly showed Simon how to REALLY handle a car on the dodgems!

Not quite weddings but you can’t keep us photographers from taking pictures! Photographed a beautiful and lovely up and coming model called Beth Barlow from Liverpool this weekend. She was so at ease with the camera.  Can’t wait to work with Beth again, here’s a small selection from the shoot
